- The door is hard to lift or feels heavy. When rollers bind up, the door weight shifts onto the track edges and the panel starts riding on the frame instead of the wheels. Left alone, this grooves the aluminum track permanently and turns a $40 roller replacement into a track replacement.
- Drafts or daylight around the door edge. PGT door weatherstripping and pile seals shrink and crack in South Florida’s UV exposure. On swing-style PGT patio doors the threshold sweep is usually the first thing to go; on sliders it is the vertical pile seal along the frame edge.
- The door rattles in wind or makes a whistling sound. Loose roller adjustment screws let the panel bounce between the track rails, and worn interlock seals (the spot where both panels meet) whistle during afternoon storms. Both are quick part fixes if caught before the panel starts wearing the frame.
