Signs Your CGI Window Installation Is Failing
- The sash drops when you let go. The balance system, the coil spring or block-and-tackle assembly inside the frame, has lost tension. In Homestead, the salt air accelerates corrosion on the coil springs, which is why a ten-year-old CGI window at the coast can feel like a twenty-year-old window inland.
- You have to lift the sash to get it to latch. The sash has sagged out of square, usually because the corner keys inside the frame have worn or cracked. This shows up most often on the wider Estate Collection windows where the sash is heavier and the corners carry more load.
