CGI Custom & Geometric Windows in Homestead: What to Know First
We install, replace, and service CGI custom and geometric windows throughout Homestead as an independent CGI service provider. Most custom radius, arch, and oversized CGI jobs run three to six weeks from final measurement to install, and pricing on a shaped CGI unit typically starts around $900 and climbs with size and impact rating. We quote fixed, line-item pricing so the number you sign is the number you pay.
If you own a CGI window that’s fogged, binding, leaking, or cracked, or if you’re planning a custom opening that needs a geometric CGI window, this page is built for you. Call (448) 428-7290 and a live person answers, day or night.
How CGI Products Fail - and How We Fix Them
- Fogged glass on CGI Estate Collection picture and radius units. The Estate Collection puts large fixed glass in shaped openings, and in Homestead’s wet season the seal around the insulating glass unit takes a beating from daily temperature swings. Once the desiccant inside the IGU saturates, the glass fogs permanently. We replace the IGU with a matched OEM unit and re-glaze the frame so the new seal sees the same conditions the original did on day one.
- Binding sashes on CGI Estate casements and awnings in geometric openings. A geometric window has to be hung dead-level or the sash binds at the hinge side. We see this on radius-top casements where the original install was rushed. The fix is realigning the frame, not shaving the sash, and that’s exactly what we do. Shaving a sash weakens the hardware track and voids the CGI warranty on operable units.
- Water intrusion at the leg of arch and eyebrow windows. Arched CGI windows leak most often where the curve meets the straight jamb. If the flashing was cut short or the sealant bead wasn’t continuous, Homestead’s afternoon storms push water into the wall cavity before you see it on the drywall. We pull the trim, find the gap, and re-flash the leg the way CGI specs it, then test with a hose before we put the trim back.
- Frame oxidation on older CGI aluminum series near the coast. Homes in Homestead within a few miles of Biscayne Bay see salt-driven pitting on CGI’s older aluminum frames, especially on custom shapes that hold water in the sill track. We clean and re-seal salvageable frames, and when the pitting has compromised the track, we replace the unit rather than patch a frame that’s already failing.
- Cracked glass on oversized fixed units from settlement or impact. An oversized CGI fixed pane doesn’t flex. If the home settles or the original opening wasn’t reinforced per code, the glass cracks from corner stress even with no impact. We measure the reveal and shim the frame before cutting the new glass, so the replacement isn’t set into the same bind that caused the first crack.
Our CGI Custom & Geometric Windows Process
- 1
Call and talk to a person. (448) 428-7290. You describe the window and what it’s doing. We schedule a time that works, and we show up when we say.
- 2
On-site measurement and diagnosis. Our technician measures the opening twice and checks the frame, the reveal, the glass, and the hardware. We don’t guess at a shaped window’s radius from a photo.
- 3
Written quote with OEM and aftermarket options. We quote the fix or replacement side by side on paper, including the glass package, the impact rating, and the lead time. You see exactly what you’re buying before you sign.
- 4
The work, done in place. We set the unit, shim and level the frame, seal the flashing, and register both warranty layers in writing before the truck leaves your driveway. That’s The Keystone Standard on every job.
- 5
Water and operation test. We run water over the exterior and cycle every operable sash. If the pane is not true, the job is not done.
- 6
Cleanup and follow-through. We haul the old glass and frame, sweep the work area, and the Done Right Promise covers the workmanship. No paperwork fights if something’s off.
What CGI Custom & Geometric Windows Costs in Homestead
Geometric and custom CGI windows don’t price like stock rectangles. The shape drives the glass cutting, the frame fabrication, and the labor, and impact-rated glass adds cost on top of that.
- Radius or arch fixed window, standard glass: $900-$1,600 installed
- Radius or arch fixed window, impact-rated: $1,400-$2,400 installed
- Custom trapezoid or parallelogram, impact-rated: $1,800-$3,200 installed
- Oversized fixed CGI replacement (over 40 square feet): $2,500-$5,000+ installed
- IGU fogged glass replacement on a shaped CGI unit: $450-$900 installed
What moves the price: the radius or angle of the shape, whether the unit is impact-rated, the size of the opening, and whether the frame itself needs re-flashing or structural shimming. We give every Homestead customer a written line-item quote before work starts, and that price holds. Call (448) 428-7290 to schedule a free estimate.
Why Homestead Homeowners Call TruePane Windows & Doors for CGI Work
We’ve served Homestead since 2008, and Dale Kessler has run TruePane out of this city for more than a decade. He grew up in Naranja, a few miles up the road, and he learned the trade at Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus before putting in years on residential and commercial glass work across Miami-Dade County. That means when a Homestead homeowner calls about a CGI arch window leaking at the leg, the person on the phone actually knows that house, that weather, and that failure mode.
Every job carries our Done Right Promise and The Keystone Standard: both warranty layers registered in writing, durations stated, before the truck leaves the driveway. If it’s not in writing, it’s not a promise - it’s a sales pitch. We’re also an authorized installer for PGT, CWS, ES Windows, and ECO Window Systems, so if a full replacement makes more sense than repairing the CGI unit, we quote the alternatives side by side on paper and you decide.
FAQs
Yes, when the repair uses CGI-compatible parts and follows their installation specs. Glass replacement on a shaped CGI unit does not void the warranty provided the IGU is matched to the original glass package and the frame isn’t altered. We document every repair and register both warranty layers in writing. Call (448) 428-7290 if you’re unsure what your CGI warranty covers.
Most custom CGI geometric units take three to six weeks from final measurement to delivery. The shape, the glass package, and the impact rating all affect lead time. If your opening is boarded or compromised, we can install a temporary panel until the custom unit arrives.
If the frame is square and the hardware is sound, replacing just the IGU glass is usually the better call and costs a fraction of a full unit. If the frame shows corrosion, water damage, or the seal failure has run for years, we’ll quote both options so you can see the numbers side by side. Call (448) 428-7290 and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Yes. When a replacement or new opening requires a permit in Homestead, we handle the permit application, schedule the inspection, and make sure the work passes before we call the job done. For like-for-like glass replacement inside an existing frame, a permit typically isn’t required, and we’ll tell you which situation applies to your job.
Call us. The Done Right Promise means we come back and make it right, no paperwork fights and no arguing. The workmanship is guaranteed in writing, and we stand behind it.
Call (448) 428-7290 to talk to a live person about your CGI custom or geometric window. The estimate is free, the pricing is fixed, and the work is done right the first time.
